Mother Beatrice Louise Oliver Black
Mother Beatrice
Black was born to the Elder Mauris and Mother Maudell Oliver. She was reared
at an early age, at the Robert Temple Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of the late Bishop W.M. Roberts; she later
became a member of the Saint Paul Church of God In Christ, under the pastorate of the late former Presiding Bishop of the
Church
of God In Christ, The Bishop Louis Henry Ford. While under Bishop Fords Ministry Mother Black served as The Minister of Music for the Saint Paul Church. Additionally she served as Administrative Assistant Minister of Music for the First Jurisdiction of Illinois
C.O.G.I.C.
Currently,
Mother Black serves as the wife of The Bishop Charles E. Black, Pastor of The
Missions for Christ Church of God In Christ, as well as Vice President of Missions C.O.G.I.C. Internationally, and Jurisdictional
Prelate Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. Mother Black has served in
many capacities in the Church. Locally, as Sunday School Teacher, at the District
level as District Missionary, Nationally, she has taught Missionary awareness courses, and has held multiplicity of positions
as she is a lifelong member of the Church of God In Christ.
Mother Black
is not only spiritually equipped, but she is educationally astute as well. She
holds both Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science Degree in Education, From Eastern Illinois and Chicago State Universities. Having served the Chicago Board of Education for Thirty-four years she retired in
1999, focusing her full attention on her job as helpmeet to the Bishop and his vision.
Mother
Black refers to herself as a Saint of God first and foremost, additionally she is a mother, to Amethyst, Keith and Chauncey,
a Grandmother, a devoted Wife, and the list goes on and on.
